One audit. One visit. One set of paperwork.
Halal, HACCP, non-GMO, vegan and gluten-free — audited together, in a single visit to your site.
Most small manufacturers who need more than one certification end up with more than one of everything. Five auditors. Five site visits. Five sets of documents requested, usually the same documents. Five interruptions to production. Five invoices.
It is not that any single audit is difficult. It is that the disruption multiplies, and for a business running a small team it is the disruption that hurts, not the standard.
We can combine them. ACERTA Certification and Inspection and National Halal Accreditation Services Australia work from a single coordinated audit programme. Your site is audited once, against every scheme you need, by a team that arrives together and asks for your documentation once.
What can be combined
| Scheme | What it covers | Issued by |
|---|---|---|
| HACCP | Food safety plan — hazard analysis, critical control points, monitoring and verification | ACERTA |
| Halal | Ingredients, supply chain segregation, slaughter where applicable, halal assurance system | NHASA |
| Non-GMO | Sourcing evidence, segregation and supply chain traceability | ACERTA |
| Vegan / vegetarian | Ingredient verification, processing aids, shared-line controls | ACERTA |
| Gluten-free | Ingredient status, cross-contact controls, cleaning validation | ACERTA |
| ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000 | Full food safety management system | ACERTA |
| GMP | Manufacturing hygiene and process control | ACERTA |
Take any combination. Most food manufacturers start with HACCP plus one or two product claims.
Why the overlap is so large
These schemes ask many of the same questions. Each one wants to know what goes into your product, where it came from, what else runs on the same line, how you clean between runs, and whether you can prove any of it.
- Ingredient and supplier documentation — requested once, assessed against every scheme
- Segregation and cross-contact controls — walked once, evaluated for halal, allergen and GMO purposes together
- Cleaning and changeover validation — reviewed once
- Traceability and recall — tested once
- Staff training records — checked once
Audited separately, you answer those questions five times. Audited together, once.
How it works
- 1
Scope call
Tell us your products and who is asking you to certify. We confirm which schemes actually apply — and say so if one of them does not.
- 2
Single quote
One quote covering every scheme, with the combined audit days shown against what they would have cost separately.
- 3
One document request
A single list. Not five lists with the same items on each.
- 4
One site visit
The audit team arrives together and works to one plan.
- 5
Separate decisions
Each certification decision is made independently by the body that issues it. That separation is what keeps every certificate valid.
- 6
Aligned surveillance
Annual surveillance scheduled on one visit, so the saving repeats every year.
One point of honesty about how this works. A combined audit does not mean a combined certificate. ACERTA issues the ACERTA certificates and NHASA issues the halal certificate, each on its own independent decision, under its own scope and accreditation. What is shared is the visit and the paperwork — not the judgement. Any certification body that offered to merge the decisions would be giving you certificates worth less than the ones you came for.
Who this suits
- Food manufacturers and contract packers carrying more than one product claim
- Businesses adding a halal line to an existing certified operation
- Plant-based and free-from manufacturers who need several claims on one label
- Spice, sauce, snack and ready-meal producers supplying diverse customers
- Exporters whose destination markets each ask for something different
- Any small producer who has been quoted separately by three certifiers and did the arithmetic
What it saves
The saving is real but it is not magic. Combined audit duration is typically shorter than the sum of separate audits, because the shared elements are assessed once. The larger saving is the one that never appears on an invoice: your production manager loses one day instead of five, and your QA lead compiles one document pack instead of five.
We will show you both numbers in the quote — the combined figure and what the same schemes would cost audited separately — so you can see exactly what the coordination is worth.
Tell us what you need certified
Send your product list, the schemes you need and how many sites you run. We will confirm scope and come back with one quote covering all of it.
